1. What is the Board?
Answer: Fisheries Development Board (FDB) is a not for profit company established under Section-42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984, by the Ministry of Livestock and Dairy Development, Government of Pakistan.  The Board is Governed and managed by the Board of Directors (06 from Public Sector and 09 from Private Sector).

2. What is the responsibilities of the Board?
Answer: The Board shall serve as a bridge between the Government and the private sector. the particular responsibilities of the Board are as under:

==> Coordination of national and provincial activities with relation to aquaculture and shrimp
        farming.
==> Promotion of investment in aquaculture and shrimp farming.
==> Promote joint ventures between foreign and local investors in the fisheries sector.
==> Help the Government to create an enabling environment.
==> Establishment of a regulatory framework and enforcement of total quality management
        for promotion of fisheries across the value chain.
==> Prepare and implement plans for awareness development and capacity building.
==> Development of market infrastructure and improvement of marketing of fisheries
         products.
==> Export and enable export markets for Pakistani fisheries products.

3. What is cage culture fish farming:
Answer: Cage culture farming is technology in which fish can be produced using cages installed on reservoirs, lakes and in dams. Demonstration cages have been installed at Mangla Dam and Durabi Dam.

4. Who can benefit from the Board?
Answer: Fish farmers and other stakeholders can benefit from the Board in terms of technical assistance, training of fish cages, shrimp farming and shrimp / fish hatcheries.

6. Current Activities and Projects of the Board
